El Periodo Clásico Maya

La clasificación de un período como “clásico” en el estudio de las antiguas culturas Mayas hace referencia a un conjunto de características que al ubicarlas temporalmente permite diferenciarlas de su periodo previo y posterior, entre dichas cualidades se encuentra el esplendor de los monumentos.  Este artículo busca ser una breve introducción a dicho periodo.
